About This Project
Bus stop analysis and shelter design for City of Claremont prioritizing access and comfort for transit users. Synthesizing infrastructure and public art, climate-specific shelters are optimized for maximizing shade and air movement. Shelters are assembled from standardized components to facilitate modifications that accommodate solar orientation, ridership capacity, and other bus stop site-specific constraints. The shelter design takes inspiration the undulating forms of the San Gabriel foothills and dappled light of coastal oak tree canopies while celebrating the colors of historic Pacific Electric Railway trains and important local flora.
