About This Project

The proposed Claremont Auto Center freeway sign reflects the style of the great American freeway and major roadway signage from the mid-20th century. In the spirit of classic Southern California auto dealer signage like those for Selman and Felix Chevrolet, iconic fast food signs such as those from In-N-Out Burger, Norms, and McDonald’s, and local retail and entertainment landmarks like Pomona’s Fox Theater and Eastland Center’s tower, the Auto Center sign uses color, contrast and a distinctive silhouette to provide memorably whimsical, light figures along major roadways.
