A four-unit townhouse development located at a threshold between the flat, rectilinear architecture of a commercial arterial and a suburban residential landscape of detached homes, curvilinear, hilly terrain and dense vegetation.
A subtle lift and rotation visually references the residential neighborhood beyond, privileging seclusion, tranquility, and softness while maintaining continuity with the streetside hardscape. The interior program manages this threshold by establishing a progression from automobile-centric hardscape to living and (soft) landscape, translating an urban condition of separation into a diverse yet ordered series of living spaces.
